The Chicago Bears are likely to be without Caleb Williams for their Week 3 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football due to a hamstring injury.
After the Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, that wasn't a surprise. But the concussion news for Tyson Bagent was a shocker. He has been in concussion protocol leading up to Week 3 and might be out, leaving Case Keenum as the starter.
However, according to Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic, the Bears got some huge news on Bagent, as Ben Johnson revealed that Bagent has cleared concussion protocol and has a chance to suit up in Week 3.
Bears get fantastic Tyson Bagent news ahead of Week 3
"Bears head coach Ben Johnson says Tyson Bagent will be back at practice today," Fishbain reports. "He has cleared the concussion protocol."
This is some huge news for the Bears, as there's a chance Bagent will be able to practice and prove he's good to go for Monday night.
Keenum might still start, as the NFL's concussion protocol could force the Bears to keep Bagent sidelined for one more week.
But this news is a sign that the Bears might actually have their backup quarterback good to go on Monday Night against the Eagles.

It's a tough matchup, even at home, because the Eagles' defense is elite at every level. But with an elite supporting cast with Colston Loveland, Luther Burden III, and Rome Odunze, there's reason to believe in this Bears' offense, regardless of the quarterback.
While the ceiling of this offense is capped without Williams, Bagent being good to go for Monday Night would give the Bears' offense more potential than if Keenum were starting.
This news doesn't exactly mean Bagent will be starting, or even active, but it does at least open the door for the Bears to have their originally planned backup quarterback to suit up in Week 3.
Regardless of Bagent's actual gameday status for Week 3, hearing from Johnson that he's cleared concussion protocol is a very positive sign, especially since Williams might miss more than just Week 3, potentially resulting in Bagent being the Week 4 starter.
