It was a noisy night on the 2026 midterm election campaign trail for the president and vice president.

Donald Trump and JD Vance both faced hecklers during separate appearances on the 2026 midterm election campaign trail on Monday.
“I fucking hate you, I hate you,” one woman screamed at Trump as he stumped in Park City, Kansas, for Sen. Roger Marshall, who faces a close race against Democratic rival Adam Hamilton.
The outburst came just as Trump was claiming, without offering evidence, that another heckler was a “paid protester.”

“How great is it to be at a Trump rally?” the president asked the audience afterward, prompting supporters to chant his name.
Trump, who last week drew condemnation over his taunting response to a protester being physically attacked at an event in Ohio, faced several other interruptions during the rally:

A protester standing directly behind the vice president rose and shouted, “Release the Epstein files,” referring to government records related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a one-time close associate of Trump, which have not been released in their entirety.
Security escorted the man away as the crowd booed and began chanting, “USA, USA.”
After a short pause, Vance responded by joking that the protester was an undocumented immigrant.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I’m going to have to amend something I said earlier. I said that we have had zero illegal border crossings in the United States of America,” Vance said. The crowd applauded.
“But one isn’t bad, right?” he added, prompting laughter from the audience.
