I can't think of anything worse than getting excited for a movie you think will be absolutely amazing, only to realize you're about to spend the next two hours watching hot garbage. And while some movies can be so bad they're good, others are just so bad that they're... well, bad.
Recently, moviegoers on Reddit were asked which films they thought were the absolute worst of 2026, and boy, did they not hold back. So, without further ado, here are 20 movies that people thought were complete cinematic disasters:
1. "The Devil Wears Prada 2. I liked the first one, but the sequel is just vapid, hypocritical, ugly, and annoying."
"I'm done with people pretending it's not shit just because it's 'not that bad' or because it has Meryl Streep in it. The movie was pretty horrible and a complete betrayal of the original story."
2. "Now You See Me: Now You Don't. I hope they call the next one 'I don't want to see you ever again'."
3. "Probably Scary Movie 6. I laughed maybe twice. Now, the first two Scary Movie movies had me howling. But not everything in those movies was a pop culture reference. It was horror movie references, and the way they were spoofed was funny. Scary Movie 6 just missed the mark."
4. "Supergirl deserves the Golden Raspberry. One of the most soulless cash grabs ever made."
"IMO, it was an inoffensive albeit unoriginal movie. A real by-the-numbers, middle-of-the-road superhero movie. I enjoyed it for what it was, but it really wasn't anything special."
"It had so many tropes and was so predictable."
5. "The Last House was so bad I shut my TV off and stared at my reflection for three days."
"I made it for like 20 minutes, and then I needed to shut it off. The dad's voice was so weird."
6. "Disclosure Day is not the worst I've seen this year (probably goes to one of the Leprechaun movies I saw), but it is definitely the most disappointing. The whole premise, I thought, was going to be an exploration of what alien life would mean to society, and all we got was an extended chase sequence. When one of the characters started going into that topic (what it would mean for the religious), the conversation immediately got shut down explicitly by the other character."
"Two and a half hours I'll never get back."
7. "Evil Dead Burn I had to watch in chunks; it was absolutely painful to get through, and I'm convinced the script was written by ChatGPT's free version."
8. "I thought both of the 28 Years Later movies were shit. They just felt like some strange, artsy-fartsy version of a movie that was already done well. They twisted something that was already so good into shit."
9. "'Wuthering Heights'. Possibly the worst movie I've seen in my entire life. I read the book right before watching and liked it enough."
"We gotta stop letting Emerald Fennell cook; she has some good visual concepts, sure, but she's so substanceless. She's like the directorial equivalent of an old Tumblr blog that tries to draw significance from vacuous aesthetics."
11. "The Bride! It took me to the depths of an ocean of garbage I didn't know could exist within a film with a great cast."
12. "I assume nobody has said Busboys because most of you were thankfully spared. But it was 1000%, Busboys."
13. "Scream 7."
"It wasn't good. But I didn't hate it. I think managing expectations is important. I usually don't go into the 7th entry of any franchise looking for the cream of the crop."
14. "Mercy. First movie I've ever seen that physically made me ill due to all the AI tech shit flying around nonstop. They even blessed us with a timer in the corner of the screen to let you know how much longer until it ends, LOL."
15. "The End of Oak Street was straight poo. I could not believe Anne Hathaway was so bad; I thought that would be impossible. 😔"
16. "Went to watch Other Mommy yesterday. Rubbish."
"I've been excited to see this. So all of the bad rumors pouring out are pretty disappointing."
"This movie pissed me off so much. No other film made me feel like I wasted my time as this one did. After the opening scene + 15 or so minutes, it devolves into a cascade of incredibly daft decisions that insult the viewer's intelligence.
F this movie with a passion."
17. "Ice Cream Man."
"This! I booked a Scream Unseen ticket with Odeon, which lets you see an unreleased horror movie at the cinema, but you don't know what it'll be until it starts. I actually felt robbed that my money had gone towards an AI slop film that I would never watch! I left after the first 15 mins."
18. "Melania! I snuck in to see it in an empty theatre, and I still felt I deserved a refund."
19. "The Runner with Gal Gadot. Fucking dog shit."
"Someone called it a Lululemon thriller, LOL."
20. "Verity. There was a scene where the guy turned around and fake-cried, LOL."
"I watched it last night in the theatre. Let's just say I'm glad I had a pass and didn't spend money on this."
