Britt McHenry addresses viral NBA incident for first time
McHenry said that the confrontation began when a man seated in front of her and a friend began berating Bucks forward Kyle Kuzma about his fiancee, Winnie Harlow.
Harlow, a model, has vitiligo. McHenry said the man mocked her condition multiple times while attempting to goad Kuzma.
According to McHenry, she accosted the man. Things escalated, with McHenry eventually throwing a drink at a group of men. McHenry said that the men were the instigators, throwing things at her before. She also said the men made a comment about her being sexually assaulted, prompting her to toss her drink.
McHenry said her only goal in the incident was to stick up for Harlow, who she "admires."
"I was sticking up for Winnie Harlow, a woman that I admire and many women and girls look up to," McHenry said. "And I was stick up for myself."
