The Baltimore Ravens have a significant question mark in wide receiver Zay Flowers ahead of the Week 3 game against the Dallas Cowboys.
After suffering a hamstring injury in Week 1, Flowers sat out in Week 2 and is now in danger of missing another game after he was only a limited participant in practice once this week before drawing a questionable tag.
Here's what we know about his status for Sunday's contest in Brazil against the Cowboys.
Is Zay Flowers playing today?
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Ravens will work Flowers out pregame to determine if he'll play, but Schefter adds that there doesn't appear to be much optimism for the veteran wideout's chances of playing.
"Ravens are working out WR Zay Flowers pre game to determine whether he can play with his hamstring injury vs. the Cowboys," Schefter reported.
"One source called it a 'true pre-game decision,' but the team doesn’t sound as if it is counting on him playing," Schefter added.
At this point, we'd say there's a worse than 50/50 chance that Flowers plays.
We'll know for sure an hour and a half before kickoff, when the Ravens put out their list of inactives.
Zay Flowers fantasy advice
The uncertainty surrounding Flowers is even worse when you consider the game with the Cowboys has a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.
If fantasy owners wait on Flowers and he's ruled out, that will leave significantly less options to replace him with.
Knowing that, and knowing the skepticism there seems to be about his ability to suit up and the high risk of re-injury that comes with hamstring issues, we would say it's safe to bench Flowers for someone else this week.
If you are going to wait things out, put Flowers in a flex spot if possible so you have the ability to replace him with a running back or tight end, also.
