Danny Boyle and Jack O’Connell have shared some wholesome words about each other as they reunited for their upcoming film, Ink.
The film made its London Film Festival debut with Boyle and his star-studded cast, including O’Connell and Guy Pearce, hitting the red carpet for the premiere on Monday (12 October).
Boyle and O’Connell previously worked together on 28 Years Later (2025), with the actor making a brief appearance as cult leader Sir Jimmy Crystal at the end of the film. He later returned as the major antagonist in 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple.
“He’s such a hero of mine; his films have meant arguably the most to me getting into this industry. So yeah, to get to do it with him is great,” he told us on the red carpet.
“He finally answered my letters,” he jokingly added.
And Boyle was just as pleased to have O’Connell back on board.
“What an actor!” Boyle said, before explaining that he’d been envious of 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple director Nia DaCosta for getting to work with O’Connell throughout the sequel.
“It was wonderful to offer him this part,” he continued.
Boyle revealed that getting O’Connell involved wasn’t entirely straightforward, as the production was still trying to secure the money needed to make the film.
