The Commanders have a long way to go to turn their season around, but Sunday night's 27-10 win over the Eagles was a necessary step.
Washington scored 27 consecutive points after falling behind 10-0 in the first quarter, extending the Eagles' losing streak to six and, somehow, sticking around in NFC East contention at 2-4-1.
For Jayden Daniels, the win was especially meaningful because it was a feeling he simply hadn't experienced in a long, long time.
Here's what you need to know about the wild winless streak Daniels ended on "Sunday Night Football."

Jayden Daniels snaps winless drought
Daniels' win on Sunday night was his first in more than a year. Before beating the Eagles, Daniels' most recent win came all the way back on Oct. 5, 2025 against the Chargers.
Since then, Daniels has injured his non-throwing elbow three times and gone 0-7-1 as a starter. The Commanders have won during that stretch, including a victory over the Seahawks earlier this season, but Marcus Mariota was at the helm of the offense.
For a player who put together one of the most impressive rookie seasons in NFL history and went to the NFC championship game in year one, going more than a year without a win was astounding. That drought, however, is now over, and Daniels looked like he was playing with some more freedom Sunday night as he racked up 217 yards through the air despite missing Terry McLaurin.

— NFL (@NFL) November 2, 2026With the win, Daniels avoided dropping to .500 as an NFL starter, moving to 15-13-1. The Commanders are hoping just to climb back to .500 this season, and Sunday's victory at least makes that scenario plausible.
