Juju Smith-Schuster and his wife, Laura Kruk, should be enjoying their newlywed phase of life, but instead they've been quietly navigating heartbreak behind the scenes.
The NFL veteran – who is currently a free agent after being traded from the Chiefs to the Giants and then being subsequently released in August – has been trying to start a family with Kruk.
But the journey hasn't gone according to plan.
Laura shared an emotional video via social media on Thursday, Sept. 17, detailing the couple's fertility struggles, which have included two miscarriages and a failed IVF attempt.
"Sharing this as a reminder for anyone going through a hard season 🕊️💛," she captioned a TikTok post, alongside a clip that captured some of the emotional moments along the way.
In the video, the NFL wide receiver's wife revealed that she learned she was pregnant in July 2025, but received devastating news at her eight-week ultrasound.
She said the experience left her questioning herself and trying to focus on the parts of her life she could still control.
"I had never felt a pain like that before, and I felt truly heartbroken," she said, after explaining that doctors couldn't find the baby's heartbeat.

JuJu Smith-Schuster's wife Laura opens up about two pregnancy losses
Laura said she and Juju leaned heavily on each other and their faith after the loss.
A month after she was baptized, she learned she was pregnant for a second time.
However, that pregnancy also ended in a miscarriage at five weeks.
Laura described the emotions that came with being pregnant again after her first loss.
She said happiness and fear can exist at the same time.
The NFL WAG says the couple is maintaining hope, as they continue to try to start a family together.
"Fast forward to today, and we're still trying, still hopeful, and still choosing to have faith. And through everything, two things I know for certain – one, it matters who you marry. And two, it matters where you put your faith," she said.
