Kirby Smart's leaked pregame speech: Georgia coach going viral for NSFW locker room rant before Alabama game

Georgia is the new No. 1 team in the nation after a road win at Alabama. The narrow victory in a tough environment could be owed to coach Kirby Smart, whose fiery pregame speech was leaked over the weekend.

After Alabama tried to take a physical approach into the blockbuster SEC battle, Smart told his team in vulgar terms before the game that they couldn't allow themselves to lose the physicality battle.

Smart's message clearly resonated. Georgia held Alabama to just three points in the second half, winning a defensive showdown in the way Bulldogs teams so often did at the start of the decade.

Here's a look at what Smart said and how he is responding to the leak.

Kirby Smart pregame speech vs. Alabama

Nearly two minutes of Smart's pregame speech to his team was leaked after Saturday's win. The clip starts with the team reciting the Lord's Prayer but quickly goes into a profane message from the longtime coach.

"It's a 'him or me' game tonight, motherf—," Smart said, urging his players to exceed Alabama's physicality.

"You better make these motherf—s believe," Smart said. "F— the scoreboard. I don’t give a f— about the scoreboard ... I want to f— these b—s up."

This isn't the first time a locker room speech by Smart has leaked to social media, to the point that some might be wondering whether the leaks are intentional. Smart said Monday, however, that he's unhappy about the videos getting out.

"Yeah, I mean, it has happened before. It’s not something I want," Smart said. "I feel like that should be a spot where you should be able to feel safe to talk to your team and communicate with your team."

While it's unclear who leaked the speech, it's hard to imagine Smart toning down his message anytime soon as long as the wins keep piling up for top-ranked Georgia.
