Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic continues to be one of the most impressive performers of the 2026-27 NBA season. In fact, he may be the best player in the league at the moment, and the numbers prove it. On Sunday against the Toronto Raptors, Doncic had 45 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, and five steals.
It was one of the most impressive games of the season, and that is not far from what he has done earlier in the year. After six games played, Doncic is averaging 37.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. This has been a superb run, and it seems that he is not slowing down anytime soon.
JJ Redick is not even surprised about Luka Doncic's impressive performances
Doncic has continued to be one of the most dominant players in the league. This is evident in the numbers, but he just has full control of the game when he is on the floor and he is handling the ball. Not only is he scoring for himself, but he is also getting his teammates in the right spots to score.
He is certainly one of the greatest offensive players of this generation, and he could go down as one of the best in NBA history. As a man who has both played with and coached Doncic, JJ Redick has seen his fair share of amazing Doncic moments. Nowadays, it seems routine for him, so Redick is not surprised anymore.

Getting accustomed to excellence is huge because it just goes to show that Doncic always makes some fantastic moments. Redick might be accustomed to it by now, but that does not mean that he does not appreciate it. The Lakers are doing well because of many factors, but Doncic is the biggest one.
"It feels pretty normal. I mean, we got to witness it for a month last year, and it was like a supernova. It was loud. It feels loud right now," Redick said about Doncic's impressive offensive performances.
This is not even the only heater that Doncic has had in a Laker uniform. In March 2026, Doncic averaged 37.5 points, eight rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game. That is quite similar to what Redick is seeing at the moment, which is why he has grown accustomed to seeing it every game, which is just a testatement to how good Doncic is.
