It won't be long before one of the NFL's premiere pass rushers is back on the field.
Micah Parsons, out since last December with a torn ACL, is nearing his comeback for the Packers as they look to bounce back from a slow start in the NFC North, winners of two games in a row.
Parsons provided the latest update on his timeline on his podcast recently, saying he's in the final stages of making sure his knee will hold up.
Here's what Parsons said about his injury outlook.

Micah Parsons provides injury update
Around 9.5 months after his surgery last December, Parsons is nearing a return, but it won't come in Week 6 against his former Cowboys squad.
He has yet to return to practice, and remains on Green Bay's PUP list as the team waits for him to be medically cleared. But it shouldn't be too long before that happens.
Parsons said on the latest episode of his podcast, "The Edge With Micah Parsons," that if it was a do-or-die game, he'd be ready to play, but has preferred to play it safe with his longer timeline.
"The biggest thing that people worried about with me, they're like, 'Man, why ain't he back yet?'" Parsons said. "If the Super Bowl was this week, I'm playing in the Super Bowl. But it's just about me making sure I have all the small things fixed first. What a lot of people don't figure out is it's not just the ACL. It's like, why did the ACL happen? What was weak? Because it all works together. It's a chain. And throughout the history of ACL, they notice if you come back early, there tends to be an overcompensation injury on the other side."

Because everyone knows, it's like, what's the point of getting me back for four weeks and then next thing you know, my groin bothering me.”

"It's like, what's the point of getting me back for four weeks and then next thing you know, my groin [is] bothering me," Parsons said.
Previously, he said he thought a return to face the Cowboys in Week 6 was "realistic," but it won't materialize as hoped.
"So many people wanted me to be back for that game to make the game bigger than what it was," Parsons said on his podcast. "It's just another 'Sunday Night Football' game between two good teams. It's not about me. I think that probably let people down. 'Oh, Micah, he's gonna want to be back for the Dallas game.' No, I'm in that phase of life where I just want to be healthy again. That's it."
For now, Parsons is waiting to be cleared so he can begin his ramp up to play. It won't be happening this week, but soon, the Packers will be getting a game-changing weapon back for their defense.
