Packers get bad news on Micah Parsons amid new timeline for 2026 debut

1 week ago 24

The Green Bay Packers are heading into Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys with Micah Parsons still sitting on the sidelines due to his ACL injury from last season.

This week was initially penciled in as one to watch for Parsons' return, as it comes against his former team in primetime. However, the Packers will have to wait at least another week for Parsons' return.

Unfortunately, according to Jonathan Jones of The Athletic, it might be a lot longer than just one week. According to Jones, Parsons might not return until November.

Micah Parsons might not return for Packers until November

"A league source tells me Parsons might not return until Week 9, against the Patriots on Nov. 8," Jones reports. "The Packers did not open his practice window this week to begin his return."

Green Bay has yet to open Parsons' 21-day practice window to have a chance of coming back and suiting up for the Packers. The Packers superstar edge rusher is out for Week 6.

But it appears likely he'll miss at least Week 7 as well. This report from Jones even goes as far as to indicate Parsons might not be back until Week 9 at the start of November.

Thanks to the Packers' Week 8 Thursday Night Football game against the Carolina Panthers, Green Bay has a short week after they face the Detroit Lions in Week 7.

Bringing Parsons back to action while going through a short week of practice might not be the best idea. So, with that in mind, Week 9 could be the earliest Green Bay is able to bring back Parsons without much worry.

There's a chance things go well, and he's back sooner, but Packers fans should, unfortunately, expect to be without Parsons for at least another few weeks, with sometime in November the more likely return timeline for Parsons at this rate.
