South Carolina's Dylan Stewart punches Alabama player during blowout loss

Things are not going well for the South Carolina Gamecocks so far this season, to say the least. The Gamecocks entered Saturday night's matchup on the road against the No. 8 Alabama Crimson 2-1, coming off a home loss to Mississippi State.

Things didn't exactly improve for head coach Shane Beamer's squad in Tuscaloosa. Alabama got out to a 14-3 lead early in the second quarter, and didn't really look back. Midway through the fourth quarter, Alabama took a 42-18 lead off a Daniel Hill rushing touchdown.

After the play, South Carolina EDGE rusher Dylan Stewart, who is projected as a first-round draft pick next year, threw a punch at an Alabama player in frustration.

What did Dylan Stewart do?

Stewart was in the game, trying to prevent the rushing touchdown on defense. After the play, with his team already trailing by multiple scores, he appeared to throw a punch towards Alabama's Josh Ford

Although throwing a punch typically results in a player getting ejected, and the refs appeared to be standing close enough to where Stewart did it, he was not given a penalty. After the play, Coach Beamer gave his player an earful:

Stewart did not play in South Carolina's first two games while rehabbing back from a back injury he played through for most of the season last year. In his Gamecock career, he has 57 total tackles with 11 sacks and six forced fumbles.

South Carolina fell to 2-2 on the season as Alabama won 49-18.
