1. "A guy picked me up on his motorcycle to take me back to his place. He pulled up to a shed by the house so I could get off — that's where he stored the bike, right? Wrong. The shed was his room. (This could already be a horror story, but we’re talking worst date, not near-death experience.) He invited me in, where there was only one place to sit: the recliner, which he sat in. My mistake, because the other place to sit was his lap, which he alerted me to. I chose a crate instead. He shared his airplane bottle of mouthwash-flavored vodka with me and, within maybe 15 minutes, said I looked like I wanted him to kiss me. What I wanted was to pee, so he took me to the house on the property, which was his mom’s. She was watching TV on the couch, and when I came out of the bathroom, he ushered me from the couch to sit and chat with his mom."
9. "I said I was short in a joke about something. (I'm 5'2".) He started arguing with me that I wasn't as we got out of the car. He (over 6' tall) grabbed me, picked me up, slammed me on the parking lot, and held me down until I said I wasn't short. I was so flabbergasted that I was speechless for several seconds and then said whatever. It was my first date ever, and we had ridden in his car, so I wasn't entirely sure what to do (I was 16.) We went into the damn Chick-fil-A, and after we sat down, he started talking about how he could force me to feel specific emotions with his mind and wouldn't shut up about the old crush he had on a girl who used to be my friend. I rushed everything so he would take me home. On the way home, he took a weird turn down a road that led to a dark spot covered by a bridge."
"I tried to discreetly open the car door but found out it had child locks on, so I was stuck. He started to take his seat belt off and lean over. Thankfully, a car showed up behind us, and he started grumbling about it. He started the car back up and finally just took me home.
The very next day, I went to school and warned my friends — especially my ex-friend who he had a crush on — and I made sure to never see him again. We all hate Patrick.
I wasn't sure how dates should go at the time, but I knew it wasn't supposed to be like that. I didn't date again until I was 20, and thankfully I've got a great guy for 15 years now, and we are both short, LOL."
11. "A friend fixed me up with her newly-single cousin for a blind date. She claimed he'd be perfect for me. We met in a pub, and for nearly 2 hours, he talked about nothing but himself. His life, his job, his workout routine, his political opinions, and so on. He never asked me a single question, and I couldn't get a word in. Every time I tried to speak, he held his hand up to silence me. The last thing he said to me was, 'Anyway, are we going back to yours or mine later?' I was so annoyed and disgusted with his arrogance that I just said, 'Excuse me,' and walked out. I've not spoken to that friend since, as I have no idea why she thought I would like a man like that. Awful. It was quite a while ago, but it really put me off."
14. "This was one of my more weird and awkward dates. I once went on a date with a guy — we’ll call Tim. I thought the date went well, but a few days later, he didn’t text me, so I guessed he wasn’t interested. Then, I got a text from a new number saying, ‘Hi! This is Tim. I have a new number.’ We texted a bit, and he told me he’d pick me up for dinner. He called to say he parked near my house, and something seemed weird, but I didn’t know what. When I got outside, a man was standing there that I didn’t know, and he called me over. He definitely wasn’t Tim. I told him there must have been some confusion because I’m going on a date with Tim. He said he’s Tim."
"Apparently, he asked a friend for my number some time ago, and we texted a bit, but I forgot about it. (I'd forgotten that I'd spoken with him several weeks before that happened.) He thought he’d try to talk to me again. I didn’t know what to do, so we went on a date anyway.
It was so awkward, and he seemed incredibly uncomfortable and depressed. He was actually nice and even good-looking, but he just seemed to sink into a worse and worse mood as the date went on, even though I told him it was a funny story and everything was fine. He took me home, and we never spoke again."
