The No. 2 Valkyries and No. 7 Wings will kick off their first round playoff series in Golden State on Sunday.

The Valkyries could make history this postseason, but are they battle-tested enough? The expansion team is only in its second year with the league, but has had two impressive campaigns. The Valks might not have an offensive core as lethal as other teams in the bracket, but if defense really does win championships then Golden State has a good shot.

The Wings are back in the playoff question after a three-year hiatus. Dallas has been able to pull off a remarkable franchise turnaround behind young stars like Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd, but the team's roster lacks depth and playoff experience. With a lower seven seed, the Wings will have a difficult path to glory.
