The beginning of the NFL season means the return of "Sunday Night Football," which offers one of the longest-standing rivalries to open the slate.

The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants are no strangers to each other and are as high-profile of a rivalry as there is in the NFL. While both teams were under-.500 last year, they each enter 2026 with much hope surrounding their squads.

The Giants made the most notable coaching change in the offseason, adding former Super Bowl champion John Harbaugh to lead the way. This marks the first time since 2007 that Harbaugh is coaching someone who isn't the Baltimore Ravens, as he hopes to help Jaxson Dart take the next step.

The Cowboys, on the other hand, are looking to build off a seven-win season last year by hoping to have a much-improved defense. The offense, led by Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, is among the most explosive in the NFL, giving the Giants defense a test right out of the gate.
