Through the first five weeks of the NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs, who were just on bye in Week 5, are one of three undefeated teams left in the NFL.

The Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers are both 5-0 on the year, making three teams left without a loss this season. So, which of the three is the best?

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler shared that NFL insiders believe the Chiefs are the league's top undefeated team. There are multiple reasons why, but the biggest are the huge question marks surrounding the 49ers and Vikings this season.

Why the Chiefs are the NFL's top undefeated team

"Kansas City was mentioned most when I asked league evaluators this week," Fowler shared regarding the question of which undefeated team is the one with the most confidence in them.

Kenneth Walker III and Patrick Mahomes have looked great so far, and with an elite defense shutting down teams and the receiver corps being good enough to win games even though it's the biggest issue with the team, the Chiefs have a lot going for them.

But the Vikings and 49ers are both 5-0. Why are the Chiefs considered to be better than either club when it comes to confidence in their undefeated record?

Regarding the 49ers, Fowler shared that "the looming question is whether the 49ers can stay healthy." Unsurprisingly, the 49ers' injury issues are the big reason why NFL insiders aren't fully sold on the 49ers right now.

Minnesota might have a Super Bowl-caliber defense led by Brian Flores, but their offense is suspect. "Whether Minnesota can win in January with this offensive attack is a real question unless it can prove otherwise in the coming weeks."

The Vikings' questionable offense and the 49ers' injury issues have both teams one step behind the Chiefs this season when it comes to confidence in these undefeated squads.

All three are great teams, but the issues with the Chiefs aren't as big of a problem as the Vikings and 49ers are dealing with right now.

Besides, Mahomes and Andy Reid have championship pedigree, and if there is any team worth trusting to be a true contender right now among these three clubs, the multi-time Super Bowl champions are a good choice.
