After officially announcing his retirement in 2025, John Wall has ventured into broadcasting.
The former Wizards star point guard, who also had stints with the Rockets and Clippers at the end of his career, joined Amazon's inaugural NBA on Prime crew in 2025-26.
Now, Wizards fans will get to hear more from Wall, based on the latest release about his broadcasting career plans.
Here's what to know about Wall appearing on Wizards broadcasts this season.
John Wall gets broadcast career update from Wizards
Wall served as an analyst for Amazon Prime last season, working as a studio analyst alongside a crew including Dirk Nowitzki, Blake Griffin and Dwyane Wade. He will remain in broadcasting this upcoming NBA season — but with more of a focus on his longtime team.
Monumental Sports Network announced Wednesday that Wall will be joining the network's Wizards coverage for the 2026-27 season, appearing across both live games and studio coverage. According to Josh Robbins, Wall will work "approximately 20 games" with Monumental this season.
He will also be on the crew for coverage of the Wizards' season-opener on Oct. 21 against the Bucks.
“We are as excited as our fans to get this season started. From the Wizards’ highly anticipated opener at Capital One Arena to John Wall’s return to our broadcast team, the 2026–27 season is filled with can’t-miss moments for Wizards fans,” General Manager of MNMT Friday Abernethy said in a release. “As we do every season, Monumental Sports Network will deliver comprehensive live game coverage, studio programming and original content that brings fans closer to the stories and the team shaping the season across the platforms they use every day.”
Since retiring, Wall has stayed plenty busy off the court, from his Amazon and Monumental broadcasting roles, to representing the Wizards at the 2026 NBA Draft Lottery and becoming the president of basketball operations at Howard University.
Now, Wizards fans will get to spend more time listening to the former point guard, who leads Washington in all-time assists.
