All offseason long, college football fans were waiting to watch Lane Kiffin's first return to Oxford since leaving Ole Miss for LSU. Now, that game is finally here.

The Tigers and Rebels enter this game at 2-0 and with a ton of bad blood between the two sides. Kiffin chose to leave Ole Miss after the regular season last year and take the LSU job instead of coaching the Rebels in the College Football Playoff, a decision that had ripple effects both on and off the field.

As a result, Kiffin went from popular to hated amongst Ole Miss fans, and now the Rebels fanbase has a chance to show Kiffin how they truly feel. In turn, Kiffin will look to prove to Ole Miss that he made the right decision to take the LSU job last year.

On the field, Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss will be the biggest star as he continues his campaign for the Heisman Trophy. Chambliss was able to return to college this year by gaining an extra year of eligibility in the offseason, and he has gotten off to a hot start.

LSU's quarterback is Sam Leavitt, a high-profile transfer from Arizona State, but Leavitt appears to be battling an injury as he was listed on the Tigers' injury report. If he can't go, LSU will have to enter this big game with a backup quarterback leading the way.

The winner of this game will have the upper hand on a potential College Football Playoff spot, while the loser will have to overcome the loss if it wants to play in the postseason.
