The Green Bay Packers have won their last two games and have returned above .500 after a shaky start to the season. But it wasn't without some big issues popping up.
Unfortunately, the Packers saw a key defender go down with a serious-looking injury very late in the game. Javon Hargrave, a veteran defensive tackle, was carted off the field with what was feared to be an Achilles injury.
ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed those fears with his Monday morning report, revealing Hargrave indeed has a torn Achilles and will be out for the season, making it two straight weeks the Packers lost a key defender to an Achilles injury.
Packers lose Javon Hargrave for rest of 2026 season due to Achilles injury
"Test today confirmed that Green Bay Packers DT Javon Hargrave suffered a season-ending torn Achilles," Schefter reports.
This news is a big blow for the Packers' defensive line, as Hargrave, the veteran defensive tackle, is now going to miss the rest of the regular season.
Unfortunately, this isn't the only Achilles injury the Packers have seen a player suffer in the last two weeks. Edgerrin Cooper, the young star linebacker, also suffered a torn Achilles during the Week 4 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

With Cooper and now Hargrave out for the season, the Packers have lost two key defenders before Micah Parsons could even return from his serious season-ending injury from a year ago.
Matt LaFleuer's Packers have been playing better recently, but this injury news is a big blow for a team that's trying to field a competitive defense every week.
Now, the 3-2 Packers, set to face the Dallas Cowboys and a very potent offense, will have to slow them down while relying on Jonathan Ford, Devonte Wyatt, Karl Brooks, Chris McClellan, and others in the interior, with Hargrave done for the season.
It's been a rough season for the Packers' injuries so far, as two torn Achilles in back-to-back weeks to key defenders is going to be difficult to overcome, especially with Parsons still sidelined.
