Browns fans remember how the 2022 offseason played out: Cleveland joined the sweepstakes for Deshaun Watson, Baker Mayfield requested a trade and Watson then reportedly ruled out the Browns — only to reverse course and join the organization in a trade after working out a massive contract extension.

Mayfield certainly remembers it all, too. The Buccaneers quarterback, fresh off a payday of his own, will be looking for some revenge as he faces the Browns for the second time and Watson for the first time since the saga four years ago.

For the Buccaneers, a loss could be a five-alarm fire. Not only would it drop Tampa Bay to 0-2, but a home defeat at the hands of a Browns team that looked lost against the Jaguars in Week 1 would ramp up the pressure on coach Todd Bowles in a make-or-break season.

The Browns, meanwhile, decided to stick with Watson after an ugly season opener, but another listless effort could force coach Todd Monken's hand with Shedeur Sanders next in line at the quarterback position.
